Quest Diagnostics raises 2009 profit forecast
MADISON, N.J. - Medical laboratory operator Quest Diagnostics Inc. raised its annual profit outlook Tuesday after its second-quarter results exceeded analyst estimates.
Quest said it expects a profit of $3.70 to $3.80 per share. In April, it forecast a profit between $3.65 and $3.75 per share.
The company maintained its revenue forecast, saying it expects growth of about 3 percent to $7.47 billion.
According to Thomson Reuters, analysts expect profit of $3.71 per share and revenue of $7.44 billion.
This is the second time Quest has raised its 2009 profit estimate. It originally forecast net income of $3.50 to $3.70 per share.
