If you think IMAX is all about nature films or planetarium-like animation, think again.
In its opening week-end, the latest Harry Potter film pulled in $3.6 million from 62 IMAX theaters.
Not to shabby.
In fact the growing popularity of IMAX is a trend that the Fast Money traders spotted over a month ago. If you watch regularly you might remember that OptionMonster Jon Najarian recommended this stock as his rising star pick on Wednesday June 24th.
| ||
He pointed out a slew of bullish catalysts citing not only the new Harry Potter movie but also a fundamental shift. "IMAX only owns about 2% of theaters but typically accounts for 10% of movie sales in any given week," Najarian said.
Since then shares have climbed over 20%. In fact they’re up 118% year to date.
But does the stock still have room to run. Before you make the trade hear what IMAX CEO CEO Richard Gelfond tells us. Watch the video now!
