Chevy Volt: An Auto-Industry Game-Changer?

Before the markets opened on Tuesday, General Motors announced that the early model electric car - the Chevy Volt – is expected to boast a game-changing fuel economy of 230 mpg. Is this what the American car industry needs to jumpstart itself into profitability?
