Pops & Drops: Alcoa, Urban Outfitters...

Following are the today’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why Alcoa and Urban Outfitters popped while shares of Advanced Auto Parts dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Alcoa (AA) popped 6%. The aluminum maker popped after Goldman Sachs raised their price estimate for the commodity. - This stock can go higher as prices go higher, says Tim Seymour.

Monsanto (MON) popped 2%. The world's largest seed maker popped after announcing that it would charge as much as 42% mroe for its new seeds next year because they increase farmers' output. - This stock has had a lot of pressure the last few days, but it got a pop off some good company activity, says Pete Najarian.

Urban Outfitters (URBN) popped 3%. The retailer popped after reporting second quarter profits were 12% higher than average analyst estimates. - Earnings were pretty good, but it's too expensive, "exactly the kind of thing I'm short," says Karen Finerman.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Advance Auto Parts (AAP) dropped 5%. The second largest U.S. auto parts retailer dropped after saying growth of sales slowed in the second quarter. - Volume today was four times the average daily volume, get on the sidelines, says Joe Terranova.
