Pops & Drops: BB&T, United Healthcare...

Following are this week's biggest winners and losers. Find out why BB&T and United Healthcare popped while shares of Boeing dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Regions Financial (RF) popped 14%. The company popped after it was announced that John Paulson took a huge stake. - One of the best regional banks, says Mike Khouw.

Las Vegas Sands (LVS) popped 6%. The casino operator popped after it was disclosed that the credit facility for its Macau property improved.  - Take your chips off the table in casino stocks if you think the consumer has no discretionary income, says Tim Seymour.

BB&T (BBT) popped 9%. The financial closed its week higher after taking over offices and deposits of Colonial Bankgroup. - Their balance sheet has strengthened... I like it, says Joe Terranova.

United Healthcare (UNH) popped 6%. The largest US health insurer popped after it won final court approval of an %895 million lawsuit in which the company was accused of improperly backdating stock options. - With Congress out of session, that's good news for the HMO's, says Karen Finerman.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Boeing (BA) dropped 4%. The aerospace giant dropped after an Italian supplied ceased production in June on two sections of Boeing's long-delayed 787 dreamliner because of a structural flaw. - The delays are ridiculous, says Karen Finerman.
