The Crasher Squirrel Contest Begins!

Friday, 21 Aug 2009 | 11:35 AM ET

Veteran Funny Business reader Jeff Jacobs has taken "The Stock Market Crasher Squirrel Contest" to heart and already submitted several entries. Keep them coming! For those who haven't been reading my blog (shocking!) or following my tweets, The Banff Crasher Squirrel is the nickname for a little critter who popped up in a self-timed photo by Melissa and Jackson Brandts. Now everyone wants the squirrel in his or her photo, but we only want to see photos with a financial theme for our contest.

Submissions can be created using Buzzfeed. (Go to the bottom of the page to make your own photo, then save it to your computer and mail to Funny Business email address below as an attachment).

It may be tough to outdo Jacobs, but I challenge you to try. One follower on Twitter suggested morphing Crasher Squirrel into Gordon Gecko, and even developed a plotline: Gecko hires agent Chip Monk and leaves Banff for Wall Street, "where the Big Nuts grow". I need an image, please!

Here's Jacobs using Crasher Squirrel in several CNBC screen grabs.

Meantime, if you'd actually prefer to keep Crasher Squirrel OUT of your pictures, and off your patio, here's a how-to video sent by reader JR.
