Hyundai, America's New Favorite Car Maker?

Earlier this week Hyundai said that August sales rose 47% here in the US after customers all but rushed its showrooms to take advantage of the Cash for Clunkers program.

In fact Hyundai’s cars are becoming so popular that the Genesis and Elantra models have set new all-time sales records.

"The economy gave them a shot, and they certainly took advantage of it with creative marketing," says Jeremy Anwyl, CEO of Edmunds.com. "If the vehicles deliver, then some of these market-share shifts will not be just temporary, but they could be more permanent."

"This is potentially a game-changing year for the brand," adds J.D. Power and Associates.

In other words Hyundai’s performance has been strong -- so strong, in fact, that it is nipping at Chrysler's heels, threatening its U.S. market share.

What’s the outlook for the car market going forward? Before you make your next auto play, you should hear what Hyundai America CEO John Krafcik told us about the outlook for his industry!
