Are there stocks for all seasons no matter what the condition of the economy? Manuel Schiffres, executive editor of Kiplinger's Personal Finance thinks so and gave his recommendations to CNBC Tuesday.
"These are stocks that are all cyclical, meaning they did well in the crisis and will do now," said Schiffres. "They've managed to grow earnings and revenue during the recession and we expect them to do so in a recovery."
Cognizant Tech Solutions—India's fourth largest outsourcing firm based in Teaneck, New Jersey. They do software and onsite maintenance.
Flir Systems —This is an infared detection systems manufacturer and it's expanding to other areas like search and rescue and terrorism enforcement.
Gilead Sciences — A leading player in HIV treatments, the company is trying to diversify into the cardiovascular field.
Intercontinental Exchange—A leading electronic market place, for trading of energy futures. The company had revenues of $108 million in 2004 and is expected to reach $1 billion in revenues in 2009.
