Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner Takes Your Questions
Hosted by CNBC's Steve Liesman And Erin Burnett In Front Of A Studio Audience
ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., September 8, 2009- The dust has settled. America's financial system is moving past the crisis mode it's been in since the collapse of Lehman Brothers a year ago. But what exactly we're moving on to is not entirely clear, and the trillions that we're spending to save the banking industry and revive the economy is causing Americans to ask some very important questions: Where is our money going? Is our financial system more stable today than it was a year ago? And will the Government be a permanent partner in our capital markets?
On Thursday, September 10th, from our nation's capital, we take those questions to the Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, in a CNBC special hosted by CNBC's Steve Liesman and Erin Burnett, "Banking on Geithner: A CNBC Town Hall Event with the Treasury Secretary."
CNBC's Steve Liesman is CNBC's Senior Economics Reporter. CNBC's Erin Burnett is the anchor of CNBC's "Street Signs" (M-F, 2-3PM ET) and co-anchor of CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" (M-F, 9-11AM ET).
CNBC's "Banking on Geithner: A CNBC Town Hall Event with the Treasury Secretary" airs on Thursday, September 10th at 7PM ET and 10PM ET on CNBC. The special will repeat on Sunday, September 13th at 11PM ET and Monday, September 14th at 10PM and 1AM ET on CNBC.
