If you’re looking for a unique piece of real estate, 5040 South Greenwood Avenue in Chicago comes with one rare amenity: the lot is adjacent to President Obama’s private Illinois residence. The home, which is being sold by the Matt Garris Group, a component of Coldwell Banker, will go through a sales process over the next six weeks, during which potential buyers will be reviewed to ensure they are financially capable of purchasing the home. Final sale, however, is pending a secret service background check. Currently, the owner is offering the property for sale without a determined price tag. Built in 1906 by A.R. Clark, the home was later used to house officers during World War II who needed to stay in the area, eventually becoming a boarding house for a small military school. The current residents purchased the home from the colonel who ran the school.

The residence is over 100 years old, and although the realtors admit it requires some renovation, the building features many turn-of-the-century details, including “spacious dimensions, preserved woodwork and plaster detail and ornate original stained glass windows,” according to the realtors.
