Here's our update on "Trading With The Stars." Willie proves himself as not another flash in the pan, and maintains the #1 spot two day's in a row. (and just like Willie--almost- Johnny Bench holds onto 7th place!) Interesting note: all of our celeb portfolios are above the $1 million benchmark. Congrats to all for that!!
Here are some of Monday's big movers on European stock markets
"Last week was a magical week for us," Freeport McMoRan CEO Richard Adkerson said on "Squawk Box." The New Orleans mining giant closed on its acquisition of Phoenix-base Phelps Dodge for $26 billion, then boosted a planned stock offering to help cut some of the $17.5 billion debt it took on for the deal.
Some movement from Thursday's action in "Trading With The Stars." Stephen Collins is now in 2nd place, pushing out fellow actor Ernie Hudson and leaving him in 3rd place. Jonathan Tucker remains on top--but bad news for Hall of Famer Johnny Bench. Johnny, who moved up to the number 9 spot--is back at the bottom in 10th place.
Okay folks, here's a look at the stocks that you are trading and the ones that are paying off--and the one's that aren't. The info is from Thursday's close. Some of the "usual suspects" are still on the lists but COMS seems to be a new player in the most active. PALM is one of the most active, but as you can see--not paying off that well. ARXT is making investors happy. Widely helds are pretty much what they have been lately. And FYI: Contest registrations to date: 415,962.
Actor Jonathan Tucker, from NBC's "The Black Donnellys" is in first place in the "Trading With The Stars" portion of our portfolio contest. He's been there for the week--and has a portfolio value of $1,030,700. But--as he told CNBC's Erin Burnett on the phone today, he's about to change his strategy.
Actor Stephen Collins will be on "Morning Call" tomorrow to talk about his stock picks and strategy for "Trading With The Stars." So far, he's making a solid run with his third place standing. CNBC's Dylan Ratigan reported on Stephen's standing--including his gain yesterday (Wednesday) of some $24,000 or 2.4% for a total of $1,051,226 in his portfolio.
