Top 10 Halloween Costumes 2009

(Posted 6 Oct 2009) With the economy offering consumers more tricks than treats, Halloween spending is expected to be lower this year. Consumers are expected to spend on average $55.31 on Halloween, compared with $66.54 a year ago, according to a survey conducted by BIGresearch that was commissioned by the National Retail Federation. Total spending on the holiday is expected to reach $4.75 billion. A good chunk of that spending goes toward costumes, with an estimated 47 million adults and 58 million children across the country plan to dress up for Halloween this year.
