ST. LOUIS - Beer brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev and PepsiCo Inc., the snacks and drinks maker, said Tuesday they will make joint purchases of certain supplies and services to harness their buying power as one entity.

The two companies said they would negotiate for technology hardware, office suppliers, travel and facilities services, transportation, maintenance and repair services and other supplies. The purchases would be used primarily for the U.S. operations of both companies.

PepsiCo, based in Purchase, N.Y., sells snacks and drinks under brands such as Mountain Dew, Tropicana, Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Quaker Oats and of course Pepsi.

St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch makes Budweiser and Bud Light beers.

PepsiCo shares fell 32 cents to $60.60 on Tuesday. Anheuser-Busch shares fell 35 cents to $47.55.
