A roundup of corporate earnings reports for Monday, Oct. 19:

Some of the highlights include the technology company Apple, which posted sharply better-than-expected earnings.

Other companies reporting include Texas Instruments, Gannett, and BB&T.

The nation's 10th largest financial holding company [BBT  Loading...      ()   ] posted earnings of 23 cents per share on revenue of $2.18 billion.

Apple
