Frank Bailey to write about being former Alaska governor’s ‘hatchet man’

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sarah Palin isn't the only member of her former administration planning a book.

The Anchorage Daily News reports that Frank Bailey, a close aide to the former Alaska governor, is writing his own book, titled "Renegade: Sarah Palin's Hatchet Man."

Bailey was embroiled in Troopergate, the investigation of Palin's firing of her police commissioner over allegations he wouldn't fire a trooper who went through a bitter divorce from Palin's sister.

Bailey quit state government shortly after Palin resigned as governor in July.

A publisher for Bailey's book hasn't yet been determined.

Palin's memoir, "Going Rogue," will be published Nov. 17.

In collaboration with author Lynn Vincent, Palin completed her 400-page book just four months after agreeing to terms with HarperCollins, which plans a first printing of 1.5 million copies. It's the first book by Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor until suddenly resigning last summer.

She is regarded as a possible 2012 contender for the presidency. Past candidates, notably Barack Obama, have been helped by writing best-selling books, invaluable platforms for politicians to tell their story.
