NEW YORK, Oct 28 (Reuters) - U.S. hospital operator Community Health Systems Inc said its third-quarter earnings rose almost 19 percent, helped by revenue from recent acquisitions and improved profit margins. Community Health, the largest publicly traded hospital company in the United States, reported on Wednesday net income of $59.7 million, or 65 cents per share. That compared with $50.4 million, or 53 cents per share, in the year-earlier period. Analysts on average expected 62 cents per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. Quarterly company revenue rose 12.1 percent to $3.09 billion, helped by acquisitions during the past year -- a bit higher than analysts' expectations of $3.02 billion.
