NEW YORK, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks to watch on Thursday: EXXON MOBIL CORP, $73.46, down 0.5 pct The energy group and Dow component reported third-quarter earnings that fell from the prior year and missed expectations. PROCTER & GAMBLE CO, $59.56, up 4.1 pct The Dow component and consumer-products maker reported first-quarter results and raised its sales outlook for the current quarter and full year. The company also increased the low end of its 2010 profit view. KELLOGG CO, $50.96, up 1.9 pct The cereal maker reported third-quarter earnings that beat expectations, helped by lower commodity costs. TENNECO INC, $14.62, up 8.2 pct The auto parts maker reported adjusted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations. WABTEC CORP, $38, up 1 pct The company reported third-quarter earnings that beat expectations by a penny. AETNA INC, $26.81, up 5.9 pct The insurer posted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations but said full-year profit would come in at the low end of its previous view. COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO, $79.25, up 2 pct The consumer products maker reported third-quarter results and gave an outlook for 2010. SPRINT NEXTEL CORP, $3.09, down 4.6 pct The provider of mobile phone services reported a third-quarter loss that widened from the prior year, though fewer subscribers left the company than expected. MOTOROLA INC, $8.80, up 11 pct The mobile-phones maker swung to a third-quarter profit and forecast fourth-quarter earnings above expectations. LINCOLN NATIONAL CORP, $25.50, up 15 pct The large U.S. life insurer posted a third-quarter profit late Wednesday, following three quarters of losses. The company was helped by a gain from the divestiture of a unit in the quarter. NEWMONT MINING CORP, $43.08, up 3.8 pct The world's No. 2 gold producer reported third-quarter earnings that doubled from the prior year and topped expectations, helped by higher gold prices and sales. BARRICK GOLD CORP, $36.85, up 6.6 pct (U.S. shares) The big Canadian gold producer reported adjusted third-quarter earnings that rose from the prior year, while revenue was up almost 12 percent. OFFICEMAX INC, $10.80, up 5.6 pct The No. 3 office products retailer recorded adjusted third-quarter earnings that missed expectations and forecast a fourth-quarter loss. OFFICE DEPOT INC, $6.45, up 9.1 pct The No. 2 U.S. office supplies retailer reported a third-quarter loss that was narrower than expected, though sales came in below estimates. AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER CO, $30.61, up 3.2 pct The power company reported third-quarter results and raised its full-year forecast to the top end of its previous range. AVON PRODUCTS INC, $32.45, down 1.7 pct The cosmetics direct seller recorded adjusted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations, though sales fell from the prior year. MYLAN INC, $16.48, up 4.5 pct The generic drugmaker posted adjusted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations. MONSTER WORLDWIDE INC, $15.89, down 4.2 pct The online job search company reported third-quarter earnings that fell from the prior year but beat expectations. HANESBRANDS INC, $22.90, up 5 pct The company late Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings that beat expectations. AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP INC, $36.07, up 2.1 pct The severely hobbled insurance giant has received billions of dollars in payments in recent months from banks to which it had made collateral payments, the Wall Street Journal reported late Wednesday.
