HOUSTON, Nov 1 (Reuters) - BP Plc was preparing to restart a hydrotreater at its 265,000 barrel per day (bpd) Los Angeles-area refinery in Carson, California, on Sunday, according to sources familiar with refinery operations. The hydrotreater, which removes sulfur from motor fuels to meet environmental regulations, was shut about four weeks ago for the planned overhaul. BP and its hydrogren provider, Air Products filed notices with California regulators on Friday warning of planned flaring. BP said the flaring could begin on Monday. Air Products said the flaring could begin on Sunday.
