NEW HAVEN, Conn., Nov 02, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Kiwi Publishing is pleased to announce the publication of "Thin Threads: Real Stories of Life Changing Moments," compiled by Stacey K. Battat. In addition to the flagship book, "Thin Threads," the company will launch a series of smaller books by categories, custom books online, and a website. The full line of books will be available at Amazon, Borders and online at www.ThinThreads.com.
The flagship book, "Thin Threads: Real Stories of Life Changing Moments" ($17.95) is comprised of 50 stories written by individuals that all show how connected we are with one another. Each story has elements that will enlighten and motivate us to make positive changes. "Through these stories, Thin Threads captures these 'a ha' instances, enabling us, as readers, to realize our own opportunities. We all experience moments in our lives when we feel we are just hanging on - holding on to a thin thread," says Battat. "I love the idea of people connecting to each other in the most fragile times, like now. I want people to be inspired by others' real life experiences and have something positive come out of that moment." Battat has always been interested in other people's stories. Through the website www.ThinThreads.com that Stacey and her husband, Eitan Battat, developed, they announced a contest asking for story submissions and received over 700. Those stories were carefully selected to create the flagship book "Thin Threads." In addition, three book samplers ($6.95) culled from the main collection are also being launched by category: Love & Romance, Compassion & Giving, and Survival & Recovery. Three more samplers are scheduled to be published in 2010: Teachers & Mentors, Money & Hardship, Teens & Young Adults.
"Thin Threads" will be launched with advertising on the "Delilah Show" on radio stations in Connecticut and on Cablevision's many shows such as Discovery Channel, Lifetime, AMC, and the Soup Network, Top Shelf and Housewife. Also, a series of on-line videos are being released on You Tube, AOL, MSN, Yahoo, and other social networking sites to coincide with the publication of the books.
In addition to the books, the website was developed so that custom books can be ordered and produced in a matter of days. With an easy-to-use online application, one can order a custom book by choosing the occasion, book jacket, and story to have sent to friends, family or colleagues.
Kiwi Publishing was started in 2005 to publish books on-demand and on-line. Over the years the company has grown and now has a dedicated sales, marketing, and online publicity departments.
Thin Threads(R) is a multi-media company.
Stacey Krone Battat is a family education workshop facilitator and former broadcast journalist. She lives with her husband and three children in Woodbridge, CT, and is available for media interviews, speaking engagements, and Thin Threads workshops.
