POPS (stocks that jumped higher)
Barrick Gold (ABX) popped 8%. The gold miner popped as gold hits fresh record highs. - With gold soaring they're buying back their hedges, reminds Tim Seymour.
Research In Motion (RIMM) popped 7%. After falling on a Citi downgrade yesterday, the Blackberry maker rebounded today on a positive note out of Jesup. - I'm long, says Joe Terranova.
Snap-On (SNA) popped 5%. The tool maker popped off the back of the Stanley Works Black & Decker deal. - A big day for tools, chuckles Karen Finerman.
FedEx (FDX) popped 3%. This transportation name moved higher along with railroad stocks as Buffett’s Burlington Northern purchase boosted the sector.
Ener1 (HEV) popped 10%. Deutsche bank initiated coverage of this firm with a ‘buy.’
DROPS (stocks that slid lower)
Mastercard (MA) dropped 2%. The credit card name beat on earnings but reiterated its warning that full year revenues will miss its targets. - The Street was disappointed with the guidance, explains Karen Finerman.
Teva Pharma (TEVA) dropped 2%. Revenues fell short of the Street’s expectations due to foreign exchange rates. - I love this stock, says Pete Najarian.
Apple (AAPL) dropped 1%. Published reports suggested weak iPhone sales in China – Reuters reported only 5000 units have been sold by China Unicom. - That's pretty sad, says Tim Seymour.
