BOSTON, Nov 03, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- A recent Strategy Analytics survey of vehicle owners in the USA and Western Europe found that Bose was rated as the most-preferred brand for Bluetooth headsets and speakerphones by consumers in the USA, while those in Western Europe rated Sony as their most-preferred brand for these products.
"Even though Bose does not currently offer Bluetooth headsets and speakerphones, 45% of US respondents rated Bose as a preferred brand for these products," commented Chris Schreiner, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics.
Kevin Nolan, Vice President of the Strategy Analytics User Experience Practice, added, "In Western Europe, Sony was rated as a preferred brand for Bluetooth headsets and speakerphones by more respondents than any other." Details may be found in the Strategy Analytics Automotive Consumer Insights (ACI) report, "Bose and Sony Leading in Automotive Communication Brand Recognition." Additional findings from this research include: -- Motorola was rated as the second most-preferred brand in the USA, followed by Sony; -- Over half of US respondents categorized Bluetooth specialist brands Plantronics, Jawbone, BlueAnt and Parrot as "unknown;" -- Nokia ranked 2nd in both the UK and in Germany.
-- Nokia was also the only brand to be rated in the top five in both the USA and Western Europe.
