LOS ANGELES, Nov 04, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF), a global nutrition and direct-selling company, announced that it has begun operations in Vietnam, making this the 71st country where the company conducts business. On November 16, operations will begin in Paraguay.
Vietnam becomes the company's 13th market to open in its Asia Pacific region, which is led by Managing Director William Rahn. A distribution center where independent distributors can pick up products opened in Ho Chi Minh City.
Thang Nguyen, who joined the company in June, is general manager of Vietnam.
Products available at launch are the company's flagship Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix in three flavors; Formula 2 Multivitamin Complex and Performance Protein Powder. The company plans to expand its product line and will include personal care products in the near future to serve the population of approximately 84 million residents.
With a population of approximately six million, Paraguay, the company's 72nd market, represents deeper penetration in the company's South and Central America region with 15 other countries, and is led by the region's Managing Director Patricio Cuesta.
Herbalife's office and distribution center will be located in the capital city of Asuncion. The products available will be Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix in four flavors; Personalized Protein Powder; and Herbalife Concentrate.
