DENVER, Nov 05, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Evergreen Energy Inc. (NYSE Arca:EEE), a green energy technology solutions company, announced its GreenCert(TM) solution has been validated on IBM's Solution Architecture for Energy and Utilities (SAFE) framework and will be marketed across the globe.

IBM's SAFE framework is the software technology backbone that makes a wide range of utility solutions possible by helping clients build a standards-based integrated platform for all of their operations across their energy value chain.

This new framework brings the capabilities of IBM software; including WebSphere, Tivoli, Rational, Lotus and Information Management products, to power solutions across all areas of a utility company, including plant operations, smart meters and personal utility management. GreenCert addresses emissions management, a key element within the business process automation project area of IBM's SAFE architecture.

The GreenCert solution is further enhanced through the partnership with Enterprise Information Management (EIM). EIM has helped support the GreenCert solution in the IBM validation process with their systems integration expertise and have provided valuable business development resources promoting GreenCert solutions in various verticals worldwide.

"Our energy and utility company clients are seeking solutions that address current challenges and provide business agility in the future," stated Jeff Smith, vice president, Communications Sector Solutions, IBM Software Group. "The GreenCert solution, along with IBM's SAFE framework, is an example of how an accurate and scalable emission information management system can translate into enterprise-wide smart energy solutions." "By meeting IBM's SAFE Framework validation requirements, GreenCert has demonstrated the value our suite of solutions and what it provides to customers who are focused on the issue of better managing their environmental intelligence, supply chain management, and increasing their carbon management needs," stated Miles Mahoney, president and general manager of C-Lock Technology, Inc., the subsidiary of Evergreen Energy Inc. "GreenCert's inclusion in the SAFE framework partner ecosystem offers our customers a solid base as they prepare for the possibility of carbon emission mandates in 2009." About Evergreen Energy Inc.
