NEW YORK, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Thursday: TARGET CORP, $49.28, unchanged MACY'S INC, $18.02, up 2.3 pct GAP INC, $22.94, up 3.9 pct ABERCROMBIE & FITCH, $34.69, up 2.6 pct AEROPOSTALE, $32.60, down 14 pct KOHL'S CORP, $55.95, down 1.1 pct JC PENNEY CO INC, $30.40, down 5.2 pct AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS, $15.68, down 12 pct U.S. retail chains reported October sales that rebounded from the lows of a year ago but many failed to surpass Wall Street's boosted expectations as consumers spend selectively headed into the holiday season. TOYOTA MOTOR CORP, $80.56, up 1.4 pct (U.S. shares) The company reported a surprise second-quarter profit and halved its full-year operating loss forecast. CISCO SYSTEMS INC, $23.90, up 2.6 pct The company late Wednesday reported first-quarter earnings that beat expectations and said business was recovering. HYATT HOTELS CORP, $28, up 12 pct The stock advanced in its trading debut, helped by its balance sheet and low valuation. MGM MIRAGE INC, $9.57, up 2.7 pct The company reported a surprise adjusted third-quarter profit and revenue that was above consensus. ALLSTATE CORP, $28.34, down 4.3 pct The company late Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings that missed expectations. IMS HEALTH INC, $20.76, up 24 pct The company will be acquired by TPG and CPP Investment board in a transaction with a total value of $5.2 billion. DIRECTV GROUP INC, $28.40, up 5.8 pct The company reported third-quarter earnings that missed expectations but revenue that was higher than consensus. CARDINAL HEALTH INC, $29.72, up 2 pct The company reported a first-quarter loss, hurt by the costs of a spin-off, and gave a 2010 earnings outlook. WENDY'S/ARBY'S GROUP INC, $4.30, up 3.4 pct The fast food chain reported adjusted third-quarter earnings that met expectations. WHOLE FOODS MARKET INC, $27.24, down 15 pct The company late Wednesday reported its fourth-quarter results and gave an outlook that was below expectations as it grapples with a raging price war and weak consumer spending. SPIRIT AEROSYSTEMS HOLDINGS, $17.62, up 6 pct The the company reported third-quarter earnings that beat expectations but lowered its full-year revenue outlook. LINCOLN EDUCATIONAL SERVICES CORP, $21.74, up 7.5 pct The company reported third-quarter earnings that beat expectations, helped by a 40 percent rise in average student population, and raised its full-year profit view. RESEARCH IN MOTION LTD, $58.77, up 2 pct The company's board authorized a stock buyback program of $1.2 billion.

About 21 million shares will be bought under the program, which represents about 3.6 percent of the company's current outstanding shares. METROPCS COMMUNICATIONS INC, $5.92, down 11 pct The company reported third-quarter earnings and sales that beat expectations, though it cut its subscriber and EBITDA outlook for the year. DOW CHEMICAL CO, $24.57, up 3.8 pct Dow Chemical and Shenhua Group, China's largest coal miner, will reportedly move ahead with their planned $10 billion coal-to-chemical project in Shaanxi province after a delay of at least one year. DR PEPPER SNAPPLE GROUP INC, $26.58, down 4.5 pct The company reported adjusted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations and raised the bottom end of its full-year profit outlook range. CVS CAREMARK CORP, $28.92, down 20 pct The company reported adjusted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations and narrowed its full-year profit view to the higher end of its earlier range. THOMSON REUTERS CORP, $32, down 1.1 pct The company reported adjusted third-quarter earnings that beat expectations and affirmed its full-year outlook. SARA LEE CORP, $11.76, up 3.2 pct The company reported first-quarter earnings that rose from the prior year, helped by changes in commodity contract values. PRESTIGE BRANDS HOLDINGS INC, $7.33, up 7.3 pct The company reported second-quarter earnings that beat expectations while sales came in slightly below consensus. ORBITZ WORLDWIDE, $5.67, up 4.8 pct The company swung to a third-quarter profit while revenue fell from the prior year.
