JACKSON, Miss. - A Mississippi woman has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison for hiding more than $255,000 from a bankruptcy trustee.

Linda Hardy was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Jackson.

Authorities say she hid proceeds from a lawsuit. Hardy was also ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution. She was convicted of the charges on April 17.

Hardy filed a personal injury lawsuit in 2001 against GE Modular Space Transport International Pool Corp. She filed for bankruptcy before the settlement.

Hardy used to live in the Jackson area. Officials said Friday she has been living elsewhere in the state, but her address was not immediately available.
