ATHENS, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Greece's Intralot said on Monday it will enter Italy's video-lottery market through a joint venture with Cogetech, eyeing revenue growth. The world's second-largest lottery systems provider will have a 51 percent stake in the venture. Intralot already offers online poker, sports and horse betting in Italy. Intralot will install the largest part of the video lotto machines at its current network of betting shops in Italy. "Our agreement with Cogetech marks our entry into the Italian videolottery market, creating synergies with our investment in the country's betting market which continues to grow remarkably," Intralot's Chief Executive Constantinos Antonopoulos said in a statement. Video lotto operations are expected to start in the first half next year. Intralot has been clinching several deals in all five continents in recent years, capitalising on the world gaming market's liberalisation. The global economic downturn has hit its profits but the firm has said a backlog of projects in the Unites States and internal restructuring would give earnings a boost next year. At 1042 GMT, Intralot shares were up 2.09 percent to 4.39 euros, outperforming a 0.66 percent gain for the Athens bourse's general index.
