RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Brazil created more than 1 million jobs in the first 10 months of 2009, another sign of the country's resilience amid the worst global economic slump in more than eight decades, a top government official said on Monday. "We are now seeing the global slump from the rear mirror," Labor Minister Carlos Lupi told reporters at a shipbuilding fair in Niteroi, a city near Rio de Janeiro. New payroll positions, which are entitled to social security and pension contributions, exceeded dismissals by more than 252,600 in September. The labor ministry will release payroll jobs data for October as early as next week. Most of Brazil's work force is not registered with the labor ministry and belongs to a vast informal economy. The government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is seeking to increase the number of payroll jobs in the country.
