Bronco Drilling reports higher activity

NEW YORK - Bronco Drilling Company, Inc. said Tuesday that its oil and natural gas drilling operation was more active in October.

The Edmond, Okla., company, which serves oil and gas exploration companies, reported that 31 percent of its drilling fleet was in use last month, compared with 24 percent in September and 23 percent in the third quarter.

The company also charged $5 more per day last month compared with September and $495 more per day than the third quarter.

Bronco Drilling stock climbed 10 cents to $6.30 a share in after-hours trading. The stock lost 20 cents, or 3.1 percent, to close at $6.20 in the regular session.
