It's the first time Forbes has compiled this particular list. It says it used four criteria:
- "The number of people one influences"
- "One's ability to project power beyond one's immediate sphere of influence"
- "Control of or access to significant financial resources"
- "How actively one wields power"
The magazine says its goal in compiling the list is to "expose power and not glorify it."
Who's number one? Barack Obama, the President of the United States.
