NEW YORK - "Dollhouse" will soon be going out of business.
The Joss Whedon fantasy drama ends after its current 13-episode order, with the series finale scheduled to air Jan. 22, according to a person familiar with the show who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to discuss it.
Off the Fox schedule during November, it returns Dec. 4.
"Dollhouse" is about a high-tech prostitution service, with Eliza Dushku starring as an escort who can be implanted with different personalities to accommodate each client.
Created by Whedon, best known for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the series arrived last February with great fanfare, but struggled to find an audience. Its cancellation was first reported Wednesday by the Hollywood Reporter.
