BARCLAYS CAPITAL Barclays Capital has appointed Rick Landgarten as managing director and co-head of the Global Healthcare Group within the Investment Banking Division. Landgarten joins the firm from Moelis & Company, where he led coverage of the healthcare sector. He was previously co-head of Global Healthcare Investment Banking at Citigroup. ADVENT INTERNATIONAL Advent International, a private equity firm, said Harry Sachinis has joined the firm's Operating Partner Program to advise on global investment opportunities in the media sector with a particular focus on publishing and information services. Sachinis joined from The McGraw-Hill Companies' Business Information Group JP MORGAN JP Morgan said it has appointed Soma Rao as head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) for its Private Bank in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Rao will be based in London and was most recently with Citigroup. DAIWA SECURITIES Daiwa Securities SMBC Europe (Daiwa Europe) said it has appointed James Godfrey as executive director. Godfrey joins Daiwa Europe from Nomura International.
