Gaming Activision

Thursday, 12 Nov 2009 | 5:36 PM ET

We love the movies as much as anyone else, but if you’re looking for a blockbuster premiere – head to your local video game store.

First-day sales of Activision Blizzard’s newest game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" shattered records, raking in an estimated $310 million!

You read that right, 4.7 million copies of the game were purchased in the first 24 hours, making it the biggest-selling launch in the history of entertainment.

For the sake of comparison, the Batman movie "The Dark Knight." brought in $155 million during its opening weekend.

How should you game this space, now?

If there’s one stock to own going into the holiday’s its Activision, says FBR Capital video game analyst Heath Terry. Yes, expectations were high and that was baked into share price -- but Call of Duty blew through expectations. The stock should have more upside. There’s a long tail to thing.
