NEW YORK, Nov 13, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Estee Lauder Companies Inc.
(NYSE: EL) held its annual meeting of stockholders today in New York City.
William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman, conducted the meeting. Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, reviewed fiscal 2009 financial results, described the Company's strategies and answered questions from stockholders. At the meeting, stockholders re-elected Rose Marie Bravo, Paul J. Fribourg, Melody Hobson, Irvine O. Hockaday, Jr., and Barry S. Sternlicht to the Board of Directors. Stockholders also ratified the appointment of KPMG LLP as independent auditors for the current fiscal year. Additionally, the Company announced it has resumed its share repurchase program. Repurchases will be made from time to time in the open market or in private transactions, and there will be no specific time frame.
