The what?

Apple undoubtedly spent a lot of time and money coming up with the name. I suspect the winning entry was created, and approved, by men.

Why? The word "pad" for women doesn't usually suggest something one wants to touch. It conjures up visions of, well, you know, woman-y thingies. Think Kotex. As soon as I heard the name, I cringed.

Then I started cracking wise.

Will Apple develop iPads with various levels of computing power and name them Maxi and Light Days? Will there eventually be a slimmer version called the iPon? I'm sure there's an app for that.

Prepare for the jokes, folks. The day is young, and we're just getting started.

Apparently, this isn't the first time someone has suggested there would be an iPad from Apple. Here's a clip from MadTV three years ago (rated PG-13)
