What’s Next: DVD Kiosks

With shares up about 12% over the last month or so, what must you know before you trade NCR ? Find out from CEO Bill Nuti.

Earlier in the month, NCR posted quarterly results that topped market expectations.

For the fourth quarter, net loss attributable to NCR from continuing operations was $56 million, or 35 cents per share, compared with income from continuing operations of $55 million, or 34 cents a share, a year ago.

Excluding items, the company earned 37 cents a share, beating market expectations of 26 cents a share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

NCR, which provides DVD rental kiosks and automated self-service checkout kiosks, forecast adjusted earnings, excluding pension expense, of $1.35 to $1.45 per share for 2010.

Meanwhile, NCR is putting more emphasis on its DVD kiosk business – in which it’s partnered with Blockbuster.

As part of a new pilot program NCR has begun installing Blockbuster Express kiosks in colleges and universities, largely in Florida.
