Walgreen's Billion-Dollar Buy

On Wednesday, Cramer opened up “High Noon” telling viewers about the possible “boom” in the market.

Take the better-than-expected U.S. industrial production numbers and housing starts or Deere’s terrific earnings’ report this morning or Devon Energy’s ability to drill and find oil and natural gas at a remarkable pace.

So far, Cramer said, with about 75 percent of the most important companies reporting, booms can be seen in a number of different areas – tech, steel, auto, housing, retail, industrial, aerospace, oil, gas, copper, iron and wood.

Walgreen, Duane Reade CEOs on Deal
Walgreen will buy Duane Reade for $618 million in cash. Walgreen CEO Gregory Wasson and Duane Reade CEO John Lederer discuss the deal with Mad Money's Jim Cramer.


Now, big news coming from Walgreen's today. WAG's CEO Gregory Wasson came back on the show, Cramer said, to discuss this morning’s mega $1.1 billion cash purchase of Duane Reade, the drug-store chain. Also, joining in to discuss the transaction is Duane Reade's CEO John Lederer.
