Will Apple Have Content To Back Up iPad Promise?

According to CNBC’s Jim Goldman, with just weeks before the iPad’s release Apple [AAPL

] is racing to secure content for the gadget – confirming a Wall Street Journal report.
Goldman says, “there’s been lots of difficulty for Apple to arrange content partnerships on the device – from TV programs, to digital publishing – a lot of people are wondering if this is the right device they want to hitch their wagon to.”
That’s rather surprising considering Apple has pre-sold a couple hundred thousand iPads ahead of the release.
”The question now is will Apple have the content to back it up.”
That's not to say that apps already available from the iTunes store won't work on iPad - they will. What Goldman is talking about is new and exclusive partnerships for the iPad, such as videos produced exclusively for iPad.
"You'd like to think those kinds of arrangements are already done, but Apple appears to still be working on them," Goldman says

What’s the trade?
Whitney Tilson of T2 says the odds are 60% that somebody buys the carcass for a song and 30% that they file for bankruptcy. And there’s a 10% chance of a Hail Mary pass and they survive.
I wouldn’t do a thing from the long-side, counsels Joe Terranova.
