Google May Axe President's Post at Japan Unit
The world's No. 1 search engine Google will eliminate the position of president at its Japanese unit as part of efforts to consolidate management of global operations at its headquarters in
California, the Nikkei daily business reported.
The current president of Google Japan, Koichiro Tsujino, will step down at the end of April, the Nikkei said.
The research and development segment of the Japanese unit has always worked as an integrated part of the parent U.S. company, the daily said.
The managerial realignment will help integrate Google Japan more tightly into all aspects of business operations and is expected to enable Google to make decisions faster, the Nikkei reported.
Google Japan is responsible for the development of various network services and the selling of advertising in Japan, the daily said.
