In April 2010, Boeing chose Mesa, Arizona as the production site for its newest unmanned helicopter, the A160T Hummingbird. Production was originally intended to take place in Irvine, California, but the move to Mesa brought forty much-needed aerospace industry jobs with it, a development that Mayor Scott Smith understandably hailed as "fantastic news." Boeing expects the first of these helicopters to be finished by the end of 2010.
