Options Action: GE

Tuesday, 18 May 2010 | 6:00 PM ET

If you believe in a stock’s fundamental story, but find share price a little too rich, what do you do? Scott Nations has an idea!

He suggests placing your bets using options. Following is an example using GE.

GE Options Chain (With stock at $17)
Sell June 17-strike put for $0.50

How Scott's Trade Makes Money

Get Long At $17
Profit Above $16.50
Losses Below $16.50

Three things could happen, he explains. If the stock goes up I keep that money. If the stock goes sideways I keep that money. And if the stock goes down I get a great name at a discount.
