On the Record: John Mack, Chairman of Morgan Stanley
Here at The Strategy Session we thought it might be interesting to go On the Record with the Power Players who come on the show by asking some questions that you, the on-line reader, may want to know.
On Monday the chairman of Morgan Stanley, John Mack, was our first guest:
1. Do you think America, in terms of financial regulation, is heading in the right direction?
John Mack: "If you focus on financial regulation, we clearly need to have some changes made. So depending on how that legislation is written, I would say absolutely America is headed in the right direction.
2. What do you like most about being the chairman of Morgan Stanley?
John Mack: "The people I interface with. They're smart, they care, they work very hard...so I like that."
3. If you weren't doing this, what would you be doing now?
John Mack: "Going crazy. I love this job."
4. When you are not working, what is your favorite thing to do?
John Mack: "[I] do a lot of exercise. This weekend I rode 50 miles on my bike. Christy [John's wife] and I have a lot of friends, and we spend a lot of time with [them]."
