William Noonan, chief executive of Contravisory Research & Management, and Jeff Middleswart, president of Behind the Numbers, discussed which stocks and sectors investors should be shorting.

Middleswart said he is shorting the consumer product stocks.

“They had a lot of growth demand in late 2009 and early 2010—but we think a lot of those comps are gone,” he explained.

“And with the euro as a headwind, I don’t see how they’re going to get the volume growth they’ve always had.”
