Analyze This: Coal / Unusual Activity: Marvell

It happened again. Fast Money was just so chock full of trades we needed more space.

Here you’ll find the gang’s ideas on coal as well as the unusual options action in Marvell.

UNUSUAL ACTIVITY MARVEL

Pete Najarian suggests keeping a close eye on Marvell due to unusual options activity.

Big volume in the June 18 and July 18 calls leads Najarian to speculate that this stock could make a sharp move higher.

ANALYZE THIS: COAL

Coal stocks ended the week as the market’s big winner with investors betting on alternative energy in the wake of BP’s spill.

BMO analyst Meredith Bandy tells Fast Money in this space she likes Peabody and Alpha Natural as pure plays on coal.

”Long-term we’re very bullish China,” she says. “And when you look at the amount of power generation that China needs and the amount of steel they produce; they need a lot of coal.”

For what it’s worth Bandy doesn’t like Consol nearly as much because it’s not only a coal name; it’s also exposed to nat gas.
