The source of market growth going forward will be coming from global and emerging market equities and hedge funds, Sean Healey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Affiliated Managers Group told CNBC Wednesday.

According to Healey, the question for medium to long term markets is not whether the economies around the world are troubled; it's how much the market has discounted that bad news."

Healey says it's the persuasiveness of that gloom that gives him the "confidence" over the long-term, which makes him "cautiously bullish."
