TECH TRADE

Apple closed flat on the session Thursday despite the Nasdaq's move higher. but if Apple doesn't participate, can we really call it a rally?

What’s the tech trade?

It seems like the trade in the tech space now is all about mean reversion, says Joe Terranova. In other words, laggards catching up to the mean or average. Google , Dell, Hewlett-Packard , Qualcomm , Motorola, and Amazon all rallied due to that theme.

Mark Mahaney of Citi put out a note previewing second quarter earnings, adds host Melissa Lee and his favorite picks were Google, Amazon and Priceline.

If you want beta in this marketplace and you see Apple drop, I’d look at the companies that feed into the Apple frenzy such as Akamai and Cirrus Logic, counsels Pete Najarian because they get added torque on the upside as well as the downside.
