The founder of Sun Microsystems Bill Joy sat down with Maria Bartiromo at the Techonomy Conferencein Lake Tahoe.

Joy says a main focus is to use innovation to create jobs.

Investing in Green Tech
Sun Microsystems founder Bill Joy, who is currently with VC firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, tells CNBC he has turned his focus from computer power to solar power.

“We’re trying to invest in green jobs and creating jobs.”

Where is Joy Investing?

Joy was one of the early investors in Google . Today, he says he is looking at about “fifty companies in sustainables and renewables” as well as digital media.

Joy believes there is a great future with technology.

“The social application of the iPad and Android are incredible.”
