Pops & Drops: Nokia, Casey's General Store...
Following are moves you might have missed.. Find out why shares of Nokia and Casey’sGeneral Store popped while Glaxo and Dean Foods dropped.
POPS (stocks that jumped higher)
Nokia (NOK) popped 3%. Morgan Stanley lifted its rating on this firm by two notches from ‘Underweight’ to ‘Overweight’ citing the launch of a new smartphone as a positive catalyst. - I think the stock looks cheap here, says Tim Seymour, but it's disappointed before.
Casey’s General Store (CASY) popped 10%. The company advised shareholders to reject the $38.50/share bid from Alimentation Couche-Tard saying instead it received a higher preliminary proposal from an unnamed third party for $40/share. - I'm not a buyer, says Karen Finerman.
DROPS (stocks that slid lower)
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) dropped 1%. Regulators in Britain have recommended removing Glaxo's controversial diabetes drug Avandia from the U.K. market over concerns it can aggravate heart problems in certain users. - I'd buy the dip, says Steve Cortes.
Discovery Communications (DISCA) dropped 3%. Caris & Co. downgraded the stock citing strong recent gains. - I like the stock long-term, says Anthony Scaramucci.
Dean Foods (DF) dropped 5%. The milk producer said margins remain under pressure largely from the increased appeal of cheaper store brands. - I'd just stay away, says Guy Adami.
