Pops & Drops: Comtech, Navistar...

Wednesday, 8 Sep 2010 | 5:57 PM ET

Here are some moves you might have missed Wednesday — Find out why shares of Comtech popped while Navistar dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Stock Pops & Drops
The Fast Money traders take a look at today's biggest market movers.

Comtech (CMTL) popped 8%: The telecommunications company's stock jumped after recieving an upgrade from Needham & Co. to 'buy' from 'hold.'

JA Solar (JASO) popped 11%: The semiconductor company rallying after having announced it signed deals to sell 500 megawatts of solar cells in 2011.

Tim Seymour, founder of EmergingMoney.com, thinks the pop is "overdone." He acknowledges that there is something to solar energy, but thinks the stock is expensive.

Phillips-Van Heusen (PVH) popped 7%: The apparel company announced second-quarter profits and a full-year outlook that beat Wall Street's expectations.

Brian Kelly, founder of Kanundrum Capital, thinks this stock is doing well.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Navistar (NAV) dropped 7%: The auto manufacturing company's stock slipped back after it lowered its 2010 revenue forecast because of deferred military truck orders.

Pete Najarian, co-founder of optionMONSTER.com, wouldn't be a buyer of NAV yet. He would, however, closely watch the stock over the next couple trading sessions.

Lear (LEA) dropped 3%: Shares of the auto supply company fell back after it was downgraded by JPMorgan to 'neutral' from 'overweight.'

Joe Terranova, chief market strategist at Virtus Investment Partners, said if you believe in the auto recovery, this is a stock you could own.
