As part of Education Nation, the "Fast Money" team took a look at how technology is changing the classroom.

Sixty percent of high school students have instructors who regularly teach with new technology, reports CNBC's Melissa Lee. It's likely that number will continue to increase thanks to cheaper, lighter computers, widespread Web connectivity and government programs that tie funding to student test scores.

The influx of electronic reading devices should be a warning to textbook publishers. Companies like Cisco and Houghton Mifflin are benefiting from the change.
