Will Foreclosure Mess Kill the Recovery?

Calls to halt home foreclosures are growing louder. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., is going one step further, calling for all homeowners facing foreclosure to be offered mortgage modifications first. Some say such moves will only delay the inevitable, impede the housing market from stabilizing and the broader economy from recovering.
